On Monday we celebrated Martin Luther King Jr. Day. That made me think about all the things I did and didn’t know about him. I knew he was born on January 15, 1929. I also knew that he made his speech on August 28, 1963. Plus, I knew he won the Nobel Peace Prize in 1964 for his peaceful nonviolent work in the Civil Rights Movement. He was also the youngest to win it. I also know unfortunally he was assasinated on April 4, 1968. I also wrote an I Have a Dream Speech but it won’t be as famous as Dr. King’s. In November, 4th Grade went to the Spring Lake Fitness and Aquatic Center(SLFAC). At the Aquatic Center there was a lifegaurd who kept pushing Anja and I in the pool with his floaty thingy. So Anja and I called him PhillBillyBobJoeMike (his real name was Mike.) Before we left we while we were waiting we put our hair up like in the picture. Then all the boys started copying us. We also started picking on PhillBillyBobJoeMike. It was a fun morning at the Aquatic Center.

Due to our snow day December 19,we had our Polar Express Party! What I mean is we ate snacks and watched the Polar Express. Everyone came into Mrs.Smits’ room to watch the movie. We had some delicious foods! Tangerines drizzled in chocolate, puppy chow bathed in powdered sugar, crackers covered in cheese, fruit punch, and popcorn sprinkled in cheese. Anja and I asked if we could take somemore and then snuck 2 for ourselves. I would like to thank mrs.Smits, Mr.Overway, Ms.VandenBosch and all the parents who helped out.
